We spent the day traveling from Branson to Oklahoma City and Fort Cobb state park. The biggest challenge was high winds. But thanks to planning the trip was manageable. For a 6 hour trip I built in 3 gas stops at truck stops that appeared to have room for the trailer to maneuver. The fall back plan is always to unhitch, but we didn't have to. This might seem like a lot, but each stop was a welcome rest and it made it seem shorter.
We arrived at our camp site around 6p, and were elated to discover a beautiful lakefront view in the middle of literally nowhere. We were also elated to discover we had a water hookup in addition to the electric. We didn't have AC in Branson, which just aggravated the issues we ran into.
And that same wind that made driving difficult turned into a beautiful lake breeze here at Fort Cobb. Wish we had added an extra day for this location. We'll be on to Amarillo tomorrow, but today should be very enjoyable.
