My Old Kentucky Home & Louisville Slugger Museums

This morning we toured the Rowan family mansion & My Old Kentucky Home museum.  People like Andrew Jackson, General Lafayette, & Henry Clay were all friends of Judge John Rowan, and visited.  Stephen Foster was his cousin, and the state song "My Old Kentucky Home" was actually written about the mansion.  I've been on many tours in my life, but this had to be the best and most knowledgeable tour guides ever.
In the afternoon we went on a tour of the Louisville Slugger Factory & Museum.  The most interesting aspect of the tour was how different major league bats are from retail stores and how involved the players are in the process.  Ted Williams for example, visited the factory regularly and said it was like being a kid in the toy store.

We arrived back at home around 2:30p today.  I think we were all overjoyed.  Nic ran up the driveway he was excited.
