Yesterday we traveled the Turquoise Trail (New Mexico SR 10) from Santa Fe to San Antonita just north of Albequerque. It was a very scenic drive, but the highlights were supposed to be 3 old mining towns along the route: Los Cerrillos, Madrid, and Golden. They looked more like Tijuana, but maybe that's unfair since I've never been there. And the only Turquiose we saw was in a very pricey shop that had survived since the 60's. The highlight of the day was the end of the journey when we stopped at the Sandia Peak Tramway and took a ride up the mountain to 10,000 feet.
